Types of Handguns

Revolver

  • A firearm, usually a handgun, with a multi-chambered, revolving cylinder that successively aligns each chamber with the barrel and the firing pin.

Semi-Automatic

  • A firearm that is designed to fire one bullet with each pull of the trigger, then automatically eject the casing and reload another cartridge into the chamber from the magazine.
  • Semi-automatic firearms are often mistakenly called automatic firearms. There is a large distinction between semi-automatic firearms and automatic firearms, and it’s important to know the machine that you are working with.
