Are you wanting to learn about raising chickens for eggs, or meat, but don’t know how to get started, or what to do? Chickens are a usual entry point into homesteading, and they double as food-producing pets. Although raising chickens can be overwhelming to think about as a beginner, it’s simply as difficult as you make it. 

It’s not necessarily an economical hobby, considering the cost of feed, and the other supplies, especially when you’re getting started. However, there is a noticeable difference in the freshness, and in the quality, of the eggs compared to commercially-produced eggs, and chickens can offer free entertainment when scratching, and playing, through the yard.

This course will cover the basics on how to raise chickens, the fundamentals of good chicken welfare, and what you need to know about getting started. It’s meant to point you in the right direction to get your backyard flock going so that you can reap the benefits.
